USB ports not working?

Modified on Mon, 23 Jun at 4:53 PM

Step 1- Visual Inspection for Obvious Damage:
Bulging/Leaking Capacitors: These are a very common failure point, especially on older boards. If you see them, they need to be replaced.
Step 2- Repair: This requires desoldering the old capacitor and soldering in a new one of the exact same capacitance (uF) and voltage rating, ensuring correct polarity.
Step 3 check for bent CPU socket pins
Step 4- BIOS Chip Replacement/Reprogramming: a corrupted BIOS can cause boot issues.
Step 5 - seek a professional diagosis on the motherboard
