When your computer's wireless internet (Wi-Fi) isn't working

Safety First: Turn off PC, unplug it, hold power button 10 secs, touch metal on case.\

 1. Check Cables & Monitor:

  •     Is the monitor ON? (Look for its light.)
  •     Are all cables (power, video) plugged in tightly to monitor and PC?
  •     Is the video cable in the right spot on the PC (graphics card, not motherboard, if you have a separate card)?
  •     Is the monitor on the correct input (HDMI 1, DP, etc.)?

2. Hard Reset PC:

  •     Unplug PC.
  •     Unplug all other devices (USB drives, etc.).
  •     Hold the PC power button for 15-20 seconds.
  •     Plug only power and monitor back in, then turn on.

3. Reseat RAM (Gentle!):

  •     Unplug PC.
  •     Open PC side panel.
  •     Gently push down firmly on both ends of each memory stick (RAM) to make sure they're clicked in.
  •     Close, plug, and test.

4. Try Motherboard Video (If you have a separate graphics card):

  • Unplug PC.
  • Move monitor cable from your big graphics card to the video port directly on the motherboard (usually near USBs).
  • Plug in and test
