What is the difference between a LAN and a WAN?
LAN (Local Area Network): Connects devices within a relatively small, confined geographical area, such as a home, office building, or campus. It typically uses Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
WAN (Wide Area Network): Connects devices over a large geographical area, spanning cities, countries, or even continents. The internet is the largest example of a WAN. WANs often use technologies like fiber optics, satellites, or leased lines.
