Missing Drivers / Yellow Exclamation Marks in Device Manager

Modified on Thu, 10 Jul at 2:26 PM

1) Identify Missing Parts:

  • Open Device Manager (search "Device Manager" in Start).

Note any items with a yellow

2) Get Drivers from Manufacturer:

  • On a working internet connection (maybe another device), go to your computer/motherboard manufacturer's website.
  •  Find the "Support" or "Drivers" section for your specific model.

3) Download & Install:

  • Download drivers for "Chipset," "Network/LAN/Wi-Fi," "Graphics," and "Audio."
  • Install Chipset first, then Network (if needed for internet), then Graphics, then Audio.
  •  Restart after each if prompted.

4) Re-Install if Stuck:

  • If a driver fails, go to Device Manager, right-click the device, "Uninstall device" (check "Delete driver software").
  •  Restart, then try installing the driver again.
