- 1) Update your phone if that doesn't work click the volume bottom and the turn off bottom twice and see if the device will turn on.
- 2) Charge the Battery: This is the most common reason a phone won't turn on.
- Plug your phone into a working wall outlet with a known good charger and cable.
- Leave it charging for at least 30 minutes to an hour.
- Check for Physical Damage:
- Inspect your phone for any obvious signs of damage like a cracked screen, swollen battery (do NOT try to charge or use if swollen, take it to a professional), or liquid damage indicators (often a small sticker inside the SIM card slot that changes color when wet).
- The button combination for a force restart varies by model:
iPhone 8, SE (2nd & 3rd Gen), X, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and later:
- Press and quickly release the Volume Up button.
- Press and quickly release the Volume Down button.
- Press and hold the Side button (power button) until you see the Apple logo (this can take 10-20 seconds or longer).
